No, do not lie Mr.Kagame as James Kabarebe

Only says that you

C can commit the crime of death and massacre

I ask you to say the truth but you

Deny

Everything

RESPONSE:

I think that it is wrong for Mr. Kagame to blame the issue of the genocide to France considering that James Kabarebe said  that only Mr. Kagame’s Tutsi-dominated Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) forces had missiles capable of downing President Juvenal Habyarimana’s plane. I think that Mr. Kagame did have some part in the genocide and starts to blame the government of France. I also think that Mr. Kagame should be guilty for not just being involved in the genocide but there was proof that he might have started the genocide. I also consider that the government of France had a part in starting the genocide because why else would the president of Rwanda just blame France but I do not believe that the start of the genocide was fully started by France because Mr. Kagame had the power in destroying the plane of  President Juvenal Habyarimana’s plane. The similar situation to this would be two countries that have a conflict such as Turkey and Syria but in different conflict because Turkey and Syria has a conflict in resources. France and Rwanda have a conflict on who is responsible for the Rwandan Genocide which Rwanda blamed on France.

 QUESTIONS:

Do you think that the president of Rwanda Mr. Kagame should stand trial for the actions that was not fully proven? Explain

Why do you think that Mr. Kagame blamed France for full responsibility over the Rwandan Genocide then just blaming the Hutu militants?

If you were in the judge’s position how will you recognize the case of the shooting down of President Juvenal Habyarimana’s plane to Mr. Kagame as his response to denying and blame France for full responsibility of the genocide?

VENN DIAGRAM

COMPARE AND CONTRAST

On, the streets again

  • The situation of the riot has gotten worse because before the riot was only throwing rocks now they had started to use firearms
  • The president Mr. Sarkozy begins to take drastic measures in  try to resolving the issue in organizing the meeting with the situation
Similarities

  • Social problem
  • Both situation was just getting worse
  • Both problems were creating a similar issue in France with unemployment and poverty
  • The riots began after two youths of North African descent were electrocuted when they hid in an electric power station, believing they were being followed by police.
France PM: Curfews to stem riots

  • Government giving methods in stopping the riot with curfews

RESPONSE:

In the issue you can see that both issues were similar but through the two years it had just deeply been a very big issue because many people are affected by this and both situations have gotten out of control. I feel that the issue of the riot should have been dealt with and should have become contain but the matter was not dealt with so quickly as a result of this many people rioted and hundreds of people have been arrested while violence rising as quickly as before only rocks were use but now the use of firearms to local authorities was just have gotten way out of hand. I also think that the plan of setting a curfew time was a bad idea as it will just anger the riot more and the result of this will just be more local people might join the riot and the youth group might also view this as the government is starting to fear them and just might want to react more to this in setting out more open minded actions to show the government that they want to be dealt with easily.

  QUESTIONS:

How will you deal with this issue if you were the president of this country?

Do you view the rioting as an act of terrorism or an act of people power? Explain

Do you think that the government of France is doing the best they can in resolving the issue of the riot or not because they didn’t deal with the issue before hand?

Do you think that the change of government might resolve the issue of the riot faster? Explain Answer

Do you view the riot as a group of people who are corrupt is it the government? Explain Answer

Why do you think that the riot is sacrificing a lot in order to express there feelings? Explain

CURRENT EVENTS SUMMERY AND RESPONSE

Al-Qaeda ‘issues France threat  Thursday, 14 September 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/5345202.stm The current issue of France Terrorism. That the Al Qaeda brought in a leader to help them with the on going US war. The French have been involved in this war but the government has taken there soldiers out. The government is worried that the leader that Al Qaeda brought in might attack on France even though they are not part of the war any more. The officials in France believed that the attacks would happen recently but they have been receiving threat messages from a man in the terrorist group Zawahiri. The security of the government in France say they are know at a “ High threat” rate in France and that they are alert for any messages again. The Ministry officials add that Al Qaeda has announced that on September 2003 that the GSPC was one of its components and there have since been other threats issued against France.  The head of security and the DST, Pierre de Bousquet de Florian. “Said the threat of terrorist attack in France remained very high and very international.”

I think that the French are getting them self’s organized and not going over board with panic and that, the government has a high security that there is a little chance for the terrorist group to commit a terrorist action in France since the nine eleven tragedy. The French have been alert so that when there is an act of terrorism in the country they are ready to get themselves organized quick and effectively. The hardest part I think is that if the terrorist group does attack on France that it might be hard for the government to get there military to get there before everything goes out of control. If the messages do keep coming in then every time it escalates its going to be a big situation that the French government if the terrorist are also a major concern to France and the leaders.

Questions on Article one ·        If the terrorist were in France, but they were still getting threat messages who would they suspect next?·        What if the military of France had been defeated then what would the government do to help?·        Will Al Qaeda commit a tragedy in France like nine eleven? Summary and ResponseEU set to agree emission cut planFriday, 14 March 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7293436.stm

The current issue in France is Global Warming. The European leaders have been discussing the global issue of the energy consumption. The power factories and the power stations around the cities that consume the most energy the leaders have come up with something to help this problem. The president of France has spoken that he is going to help lower the energy level. He is starting up a med center; the med center is a proposal to cut sales tax on green goods. The idea put forward would cover such products as low-energy light bulbs. Countries did not agree with the idea which he described as “a very sensitive issue”. All the other leaders agree that there can be a good affect on the level of energy. They have agreed to spread it over to other counties so that they can participate to lower energy. The Middle Eastern countries have agreed to help. For countries in Europe and the Middle East they say that all the emissions coming out of factories we will be able to stop and lower the increase of greenhouse gases in the air by 2020. The EU leaders are also saying that there will be 20% drop of emissions in the air and they have joined the med- club to support the other leaders.

I think that the leaders are doing there best to help the countries from such a global disaster to our planet they are fighting to win over global emissions and energy consumption in the world and that every one should be a part of there global organization on the med-club. The Leaders have a chance to defeat the greenhouse gases spreading out in the world that they are getting EU leaders to back them up so if there they needed help that they could support them and that would make people around the globe to believe that they can also help. The best part what the EU leaders have done is they have agreed to share the technology to the neighboring countries to the Middle East. This will increase the method and impact and insure greater probability of energy level drop age. Questions on Article two

  • If the leaders do succeed with the med-center will they let the public be involved yes or no?
  • Will there be any problems with any of the leaders during the way to drop energy levels?
  • Will it be too late for the med-center to stop the energy and emissions completely?

LANGUAGE ARTS TEXT ANALYSIS

Analyzing Informational Text by Henny

http://www.economist.com/opinion/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11293584&CFID=4749887&CFTOKEN=29605624

I chose to analyze “Sarkozy’s Difficult Year”, an article from the online edition of the Economist magazine. The author’s name was not mentioned, but he is a staff-writer for the magazine.

In the article he gives his outsider perspective on the situation. This is shown in the way he talks about the opinions of France on the situation as if he were not one of them. In the second paragraph of the article, the author mentions that the problem is much more obvious for the people who live in France rather than those seeing it from abroad, implying that he is not French.

He wrote the article for readers outside of France that were unaware of it. I know this because if he had written the article for the people of France to read, he wouldn’t be mentioning what their own opinions were as he does in the text.

The author seemed to be objective rather than persuasive in the way they stated facts and opinions of others, rather than their own opinion. The author seems to feel strongly about the situation of Sarkozy and France by his choice of words and the way eh directly states the way Sarkozy’s popularity has dropped and does not fulfill his promises. He also seems not to give an effort to view Sarkozy’s situation in another perspective.

This article was written on May 1st, 2008. The opinions that citizens have of their president and the popularity of the president constantly changes. The date is very important to be aware of in the article because it shows how recently this was happening, because the president could also become worse or better and change in time

Analyzaing Informational Text by Jaime Abadam

The informational text I have chosen to analyze, “Unrest reaches French capitol,” is a news article published in the on-line edition of the news channel CNN. Chris Burns and Kayat Mongodin, who are news week reporter for the news channel CNN, written this article. These two reporters were both giving a perspective outside the country, because both reporters were not affiliated with the government of France or the Youth Group (rioters), but both authors has gathered different perspectives of people living in France such as the police, government officials, people rioting against the government, and innocent civilian being affected by this during the 2005 France Civil Arrest.

The article “Unrest reaches French capitol” was for the audience of around the globe that is interested in current events happening in the globe. The purpose of this article is to inform people outside of France about the 2005 France Civil Arrest and the status of the country on how it is doing during the rioting against the government. This article helps point out the affect of the rioting with poverty and discrimination and the different points of each side.

This article was objective because both sides were stated out in the article. The two reporters interviewed both sides of the conflict with the interview of the government official President Nicolas Sarkozy of his perspective of the conflict and an interview with one of the people rioting in his perspective of the conflict on why they are angry. Both writers does not show strong personal emotions in there writing and shows each points of view of the conflict including direct quotes of people who are against the riot such as Nicolas Sarkozy, interior minister which is now the president of France and people who are against the government such as anonymous members of the Youth Group.      This article was published in November 5, 2005, during the 2005 France Civil Arrest in France. This publication was important because it the article was published during the issue and to point out the article was not that long ago.

Analyzing information text: by Christian Huang

The informational text I chose to analyze, “Plants to Test Immigrants’ DNA” is a news article published I in the online edition of the newspaper The New York Times. Elain Sciolino, a writer for The New York Times, wrote this article. Her perspective of the story comes from inside the country as she records the quotes in the article. Reading from a source that comes from inside the country makes it more reliable because it is not exaggerated by others.  The article is meant to be read by French and non French immigrants. Also those who wish to know more about current events. This text was written to educate the public about strategies for illegal immigrants to give notice about any changes to immigration. It changed to how the strategy was vilified. The author tries to be unbiased to any side. The author has no strong emotions about the topic. The author does not really have a point of view because, she is unbiased to any side and most of the article is quotes people made in the session. This article was written on Oct 10 and published Oct 11. The publication date is important because it helps us know the story is a current event. It lets us know if the event is still going on if its connected to another older article. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/11/world/europe/11france.html?scp=3&sq=france+immigrants&st=nyt
